Test Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a skilled test automation engineer to design and maintain automated tests. The role involves designing automation scripts and finding solutions for automation problems — and developing your own skills so the solutions stay current.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and expand the automated testing infrastructure
  • Ensure code quality through peer reviews so guidelines and standards are followed
  • Integrate new automation scripts into the CI/CD process
  • Look after the CI process: review results regularly and report defects
  • Investigate issues in the software through targeted testing
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Keep up with the latest developments in the industry

What you bring

  • Command of the fundamentals of manual and automated testing
  • At least three years of experience in automated quality assurance
  • Experience with automation architecture and strategy
  • Very good knowledge of Java, Python or another object-oriented language
  • Understanding of HTTP, JSON and REST
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience with SQL, Postman and Jenkins
  • Experience with one of the common test frameworks such as Playwright, Karate or TestNG
  • Good English for working with the team and the client
  • Good understanding of development processes and the software lifecycle
  • Good knowledge of different testing methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of agile methods, preferably Scrum
  • Experience with bug and test tracking systems, preferably Jira
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to have

  • Robot Framework, Cucumber or Grafana
  • Experience with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) by OpenText, formerly Micro Focus
  • Experience with JavaScript and VBScript as used by UFT
  • Experience with API testing and automating RESTful services
  • Experience with JMeter or Gatling
