Performance Test Engineer (m/f/d)
We are looking for a highly skilled performance test engineer to design and maintain performance tests. The role involves designing scripts and finding solutions for performance questions — and developing your own skills so the solutions stay current.
To succeed in this role you work exceptionally accurately and approach technical problems with a solver’s mindset. Confident scripting, sound planning, dependable execution and good time management are part of it.
Your responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and expand the performance testing infrastructure and framework
- Read and interpret functional and technical specifications and derive comprehensive load scenarios from them
- Run and monitor test scripts in the test environment, and interpret error logs and result output
- Analyse results, identify performance bottlenecks, document and report them
- Write clean, stable and extensible code that meets the requirements and anticipates possible faults
- Work closely with cross-functional teams
- Keep up with the latest developments in the industry
What you bring
- Command of the fundamentals of manual and performance testing
- At least three years of experience in performance testing
- Experience with code profiling, coverage and load testing
- Confident use of at least one of the following: Visual Studio Load and Performance, JMeter, K6, LoadRunner, Visual Studio Profiler, SQL Profiler or the Chrome performance tools
- Understanding of modern web development: SPA, REST, HTML, XML, JSON and SQL
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Experience with CI/CD
- Good English for working with the team and the client
- A deep understanding of development processes and the software lifecycle
- Good knowledge of different testing methods and techniques
- Knowledge of agile methods, preferably Scrum
- Experience with bug and test tracking systems, preferably Jira
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to have
- Experience creating a performance concept from scratch
- Experience building a performance testing framework from scratch
- Confidence in dealing with the client directly
